Zeomangan is a purple-black filter media capable of effectively removing soluble iron, manganese, and foul-smelling hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from the spring water supply.
This Taiwan-made media filter is processed from ceramic zeolite granules and can be used in a completely closed pressure system with no aeration or repumping or in an open gravity filter system.
Continuous regeneration of Zeomangan is strongly recommended whenever the iron removal is desired, regardless of the presence of manganese. Continuous regeneration can be done by simply adding a predetermined amount of potassium permanganate (KMnO4) and chlorine (Cl-) to the raw water before the filtration system that contains Zeomangan. Chlorine must be fed upstream of permanganate with 10-20 seconds contact time whenever possible.
